Trentwood History

History

Kaiser’s Trentwood Works enters the new millennium well prepared, building on both its state-of-the-art present and its history of progress. Constructed in 1942 as a wartime facility in Spokane, Washington, Trentwood today is one of the most advanced flat-rolled-product mills in the world. Following World War II, Henry Kaiser saw a future in the aluminum business. In 1946, against the advice of industry experts, he leased and later purchased Trentwood and its sister facility, the Mead Works primary aluminum plant.  Investments in technology and equipment have allowed Trentwood to take a space-age leap from basic industrial production to computerized, high-technology manufacturing.
