POSITION TITLE:

Safety Manager

DESCRIPTION:

Individual will be responsible for leading and championing all aspects of the safety function including implementation of existing corporate standards, industry best practices and managing audit processes to ensure continuous improvement. The Safety Manager will be responsible for daily management and engagement of the line organization involving incident investigations, hazard control and safe work practices. In addition the incumbent will work toward short and long term safety program goals, including annual safety plans and injury reduction goals.

Act as liaison to Union safety representatives, co-chair joint company/union safety meetings and lead joint union management prevention activities.

SUMMARY OF REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Safety Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

7 - 10 Years of progressive safety management experience

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is highly desirable

Manufacturing experience involving molten metals is ideal
Possess a fundamental working knowledge and understanding of State and Federal regulations pertaining to OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI.

Lean manufacturing and/or six sigma experience a plus
