POSITION TITLE:

Alloy Development Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Research and Development Engineer for the Flat Rolled Products division of a fast-paced and growing aluminum fabricated products company. The incumbent will work on the development of 7xxx and 2xxx alloys and tempers for the aerospace industry. Additionally, the individual will work on the improvement of metallurgical and thermal processes to provide improved property characteristics to meet customer expectations for use in Aerospace.

SUMMARY OF REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy or Material Science required. A Master's or PhD degree is preferred

15 years plus experience in research and/or development programs related to aluminum alloy metallurgy

Alloy development experience required

Leadership of technical development programs is preferred

Experience with aluminum casting preferred

Working cooperatively with other engineers in a team based environment

Practical experience and expertise in the use of designed experiments

Ability to interface with all levels of the organization and customers

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is preferred
